On this site you will find out all you need to know about the health care services available on campus and what you have to do to access a doctor, nurse or health care professional.

All our services are provided for all students and staff working on campus.

The Student Health Service located in the Health Centre in the Geography Building and you can see a doctor or nurse there every day during term time. We provide a full range of medical services including contraception, emergency contraception; sexual health advice and care; psychological counselling; substance misuse; and immunisation. We also care for long term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy etc. In order to access these services and other available services under the NHS students should register with Globe Town Surgery at the Student Health Centre at the beginning of term. The Student Health Service will see all patients but we can only register patients with a Tower Hamlets postcode (E1, E2, E3, E14). Once you are registered you will then have 24 hour 365 day cover. Students who need to be seen but who live outside Tower Hamlets can be registered but only as Immediately Necessary patient (INP) and/or Temporary Resident patient (TRP). This is a statutory requirement which relates to the use of emergency services like ambulances so there can be no exceptions. However if you need to be seen please come as INP or TRP and you will be covered for any treatment you may require whilst on the campus.

This service is supported by GPs and nursing staff at Globe Town’s main site and by the out-of-hours service provider THEDOC.
