Telephone Answering
In October 2007 we went digital and we doubled the number of telephone lines into the surgery. This was in response to our patients’ comments that the surgery number was often engaged. Going digital means that we can monitor and report on our performance in answering your calls, click on the links to see the reports by month from April 2007.

Making appointments
Appointments may be booked up to a month in advance. Each appointment is for 10 minutes. Our telephone lines are open from 8.45am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and from 8.45am to 1pm on Thursdays.

Appointments can be made between 9am and 12noon and 3pm and 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and 9am to 12noon on Thursday.

IF YOU NEED A SAME DAY APPOINTMENT
• Telephone the surgery between 8.45am and 11.30am on 020 8980 3023
• Give the receptionist your name, telephone number and the nature of your complaint
• You will be advised that a nurse or doctor will call you back by 1pm (approximately)
• Please remain at the telephone number given. Please give a landline number whenever possible.

This Same Day service is not for repeat prescriptions, sickness certificates, test results, claim forms, reports or chronic conditions. For these items please book a routine appointment as described above.

Cancelling an appointment
If you are unable to keep a booked appointment, please cancel either by:

How to decide on a Doctor or Nurse appointment
The Practice Nurses will see you for any of the following:
• Cervical smears
• Women’s Health / Contraceptive advice / Contraceptive prescriptions / Depo-Provera injections
• Smoking Cessation / Alcohol Advice
• Travel Vaccinations – we are an approved YELLOW FEVER Centre
• Childhood Immunisations
• General injections – for example Vitamin B12
• Annual flu vaccinations – Pneumovax vaccinations
• Health checks
• Blood pressure checks
• Diabetic checks (alternate MONDAYS)
• Asthma checks (alternate FRIDAYS)
• Ear syringing - (drops may be required prior to ear syringing)
• Wound dressing / Removal of sutures
• Anticoagulation
• Chronic Diseases (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes etc)
• Emergency contraception
• Nutrition weight loss
